mod updates?

I'm kinda new to this kind of thing and don't know how updating mods work. For example when a mod is updated, does it download it automatically or do I have to re-download the mod and put it in the mods folder again? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

They don't update automatically as for now.
You need to download them again (and replace with the older version).

The next version of this game should include an auto-update feature (not guaranteed by highly likely), but until then you have to press the green "inatall" button when you get an alert that the mod has been updated.
