I would like to redesign the interior of the 200BX in order to make it look somewhat like the interior of the KITT 2000 from Knight Rider.

However, I am not sure how I would go about doing this. Does anybody have some pointers? :)

First step is learn how to model, do this in a program such as Blender or if you really want 3ds Max, Maya, Anim8or, a bag of rocks, or just about anything else that isn't sketchup.

Sketchup isn't that bad. It's the only 3D modeling program I know how to use to some extent.

It is though, its great for making blocks and houses and general square crap but the minute you come to a curve its going to be a massive pain in the ass and in the end to make a proper shape with reasonable flow and polygon count you have to do vertex by vertex modelling technique that is not only harder but also much slower to do than it would be in a program like Blender.

Maybe it would be best if I did it in the program it was modeled in. What would that be?

the 200BX was one of the few cars which were modelled in blender.
rest of the cars were made with Autodesk 3D studio max

I decided I'm not doing this because I can't use Blender to save my life. I'll probably turn the car's mesh into a rolling black hole if I use it.

Everyone who refuses to take the time to learn any piece of software says something like that.

Learn it. You'll be glad you did.

I understand that. Blender is very difficult for me to understand.

Oh, I have. In fact I've lost count how many tutorials I've watched and failed at some point.

You can't just watch. You have to do. The tutorials found here are genuinely good and are easy enough for an idiot to understand.

To learn any software you need lots of time and personal learning, learn from mistakes, I thought I was a noob as well last summer, and now I feel like i can actually do something. Just be patient with yourself and work it up in steps, take frequent breaks(if that helps). Hands on is one way people learn, and that's how I learned. I think it could work for you. Hope this Helps, You'll get it eventually. (The image is just some "Stuff" I've been doing in blender.)

I like to download and use mods as they are,and let the owner fix the bugs, because they can fix it better than me...
