Mods

I thought that this was a game you could play without needing mods, which I was correct about.
From nearly all posts I saw that contained mod discussion I noticed that nearly everyone has about 200 to 500 mods installed. In Garry's Mod you quickly get a really slow and low FPS game because of the many mods. In this game, do a lot of mods affect your game's FPS and running speed? Asking in general, not related to any computer specs.

 

The more things the game has to load into its memory, the slower it will run. Performance isn't hugely affected for the most part, but personally I like to keep as little mods as possible, since there are few mods truly made to the same standard as the vanilla game
