Here's some engines options that would be cool on some cars:
    - Civetta Bolide: adding an Italian V12 option
    - Hirochi SBR4: adding a Japanese V10 option
    - Ibishu 200bx: adding a Japanese I6 option
    - All ETKs: adding a German V8 option
    - Gavril D-series, Grand Marshal, H-series and roamer: adding an American I4

These are my thoughts, you can tell me if I'm having a good or bad idea here, or expand my list :)

Here are my thoughts and takes
    >Civetta Bolide: adding an Italian V12 option
Not possible, doubt it would fit and we already have all the trims realized, maybe when the bolide remaster comes but i doubt it
    >Hirochi SBR4: adding a Japanese V10 option
Not possible. The SBR4 is rear engine and so, space is limited, lets keep in mind the fact that the stock boxers have little leftover space anyway.
    >Ibishu 200bx: adding a Japanese I6 option
Possible, but not very likely. IRL RB26/2JZ swapped 240s are common so this could come as an aftermarket version.
    >All ETKs: adding a German V8 option
Quite possible and likely, since most the cars the ETKs are based on came with V8s iirc
    >Gavril D-series, Grand Marshal, H-series and roamer: adding an American I4
No. They wouldnt have enough power to move. The i6 already struggles to get the cars up to speed, an i4 just wouldnt make sense, especially with the fleet oriented GM.
For some of my own ideas:
    - Legran: Adding the Wendover 4.4 V8
    - ETK I-Series: Add the goddamn 2 liter already! We really need something for an extremely cheap "naked" base model
    - Piccolina: Add an aftermarket option to swap in the SBR 2 liter flat 4
    - Vivace: Add a diesel i3 and i5
    - D-Series/H-Series: Add some sort of petrol alternative to the 6.0 diesel, i get that the 6.9 V8 is probably that but i think a 7.5 or bigger V10 would be better
New pessima: We REALLY need some sort of diesel, maybe a 1.9 liter i4 with non turbo options?

Actually, Brazilian Superduties did have the option of the 3.9L Cummins i4 for awhile, including model years that overlap with the D-Series. Although not that close of a counterpart, Ford Transit vans have always offered i4 options as well. Brazilian squarebody Suburbans also had i4 options.

Without export versions it wouldn't make sense in the D-Series*, it's just worth noting.

*From factory at least. I still say we need an "if it fits it ships" system for aftermarket engine swaps.

Interesting opinion for sure, I like your propositions too! I'm not a pro in car knowledge, but I think it would be possible for the engines to fit. Like they could remove the rear seats of the SBR4 to fit a V10? And for the Gavrils, I think an I4 wouldn't be a bad idea, for the low end cars! Based on real cars, I've seen (as an European) american suvs and sedan with i4, even with RWD and 4x4!

while a conventionally sized (<3.0L) i4 wouldn't make sense, i think it would be interesting if they got a super clattery, low horsepower diesel as a predecessor/cheaper alternative to the 6.0 V8.

to add to this list more:
-an enormous 2-stroke V8 for the semi (and swap for the bus?) would be awesome, especially if made fully tunable.
-while a v12 doesn't really make sense, it could do with more variance, e.g. replace the 3.2 V8 with a smaller 2.0 V8 with optional turbo (like a Ferrari 208 turbo), and to add to the brutality of the 390GTR, a set of laggy turbos would make it so much more dangerous and rewarding to drive.
-The piccolina feels underutilised with its production ending in 1973.
I think a heavy facelift would be good, like the VW "super beetle" primarily involving a basic fuel injected intake with a VW type 3 "pancake" arrangement, maybe even a hatchback above the engine.
-while it may be on the limits of what the physics engine is capable of, the bluebuck would be the perfect home for an experimental turboshaft engine, similar to the chrysler turbine car of the early 60s.
    -something something wankel rotary engine

Like a Fiat 126P Bis? Hell yeah, count me in!
    Also some more ideas:
-Early turbo engine for Bluebuck/Barstow, Olds Jetfire style, with a reservouir for "Turbojet Fluid", the turbo overheats if its removed/emptied.
-Also that for the Moonhawk, no fluid reservoir this time, just a turbo 150 (?) CUI i4 as a more fuel efficient alternative to the i6
-Make the Pigeon 600cc engine available in the Piccolina, bike swaps are pretty common in old Fiats
-New ETK engines and gavril V8s for ETK I series
    -Diesel I6 for the Hopper
    --- Post updated ---
Oh, didnt know that, thought he meant something like an Iron Duke i4, so 2.0-2.5 liter with low power
