So, I was customizing a Gavril Barstow NightSnake and could not find any rims that I liked that also had race tires, and was really dissapointed. I would like race tires on all of the rims, even the truck rims because racing trucks is fun, (also, why not?), and even rims like the Alder Powr-push (aka cliche' muscle car rims). That would be really nice.
just go into the Jbeam, find the tyre that you use on the rim you like and then up the FrictionCoef value, its probably at about 1.5 or so. Just change it to about 2.3 depending on how grippy you want the tyre, but make sure to backup the original Jbeam file
Well, sorry in advance for sounding like an ass, but if you want grippier tyres get over it. It is not hard and takes at most like 5-10 minutes depending on whether you can read fast and your skills at transferring files. There is a whole tutorial on how to change basic game files and as long as you follow the instructions youll be fine. Here's the link http://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-vehicle-performance-and-components-modification-simple.4261/
well every time i mess with the files i break it so it was just somethin that I thought would be fun to mess with
make a folder in the beamNG folder in documents called vehicles, then in that folder make another folder with the same name as the .zip in the steam BeamNG folder that has the file you want to modify, after that you drag the file you wanted to edit from the zip to the new folder with the same name, and then you are ready to change things,
When i do it i put the original jbeam file on my desktop and copy it and edit the copied one so i always have the original code and the i just replace it with my edited one in the vehicles content folder. I have not had a problem yet and i hvae messed with engines, bodies, wheels, tyres, transmissions and even the cannon so it does wheelies.
I don't have a problem with the wheels so much but I would love to see a better front suspension for the D-series and bigger tire options
