Mouse controls, possibly?

    Mouse controls

I wanted to dig this old topic up again, because we haven't got the answer yet.

Anyway, the idea is to have precise controls over a vehicle by mouse movement. If you have played LFS or Euro truck simulator 2, you might probably know what I'm talking about. So yeah, your mouse basically works as a steering wheel and controls where the car turns, when moved to left or right.

Sorry for my terrible explanation, but I just wanted to know if you guys are going to implement it at some point. It'd be cool.:D

It would be good for some people, and a self centering option might be good, I don't know though, don't play with the mouse a lot.

This can't be that hard to implement. So I don't see why not. It could be something as simple as just changing the controls for steering to the X axis of the mouse. Personally I prefer to use the mouse when I can't be bothered to use my steering wheel and don't want to use my keyboard.

I used to play this game (can't remember the name) and it allowed for the mouse steering and left click for the throttle but it was absolutely terrible, the car would never go with the mouse. BeamNG's soft body physics may have the downsides with mouse steering, say if you move the mouse too hard, it may snap the steering column or something like that, but I quite like the idea for people who use the mouse more often than a keyboard.
