My suggestion is that you maybe create a way for the moon to move across the sky at night, the same way the sun does in the daytime-- If you have the time play checkbox ticked. That way, night time will feel more dynamic, and not so "static."

Right now with the moon stuck in one place (due north, 45 degrees above horizon), there is no real sense of what time it is in the night, without any visible position change. You only know you're somewhere between sunset and sunrise the next day. You have no sense of how close to each you are... and if you have the time in motion, how long it will be before the sun comes up.

    Side Note:
People already have the option to change the moon's azimuth and elevation in the Sunsky menu, but I have yet to see a map in this game-- default or modded-- where anyone has bothered to move the moon to any location other than due north 45-up. In essence what would basically be a permanent "lunar midnight" (the direct opposite of "solar noon").
Problem is... unless you're in the southern hemisphere, the moon can't shine due north... so for all the northern hemisphere maps, this is a fallacy. But I digress.

Here's my thought. The moon already defaults to a full moon phase, so that's perfect (we won't worry about phases... that's too complex).

Full moons rise at sunset, and set at sunrise the next day. They usually mimic the sun's high noon position at 12 midnight... so if the moon moves through the sky in the same path that the sun did 12 hours earlier, you can figure out what time of the night it is, and see night hours progress by changing moonlight. When the moon nears the western horizon... you know that the sun is about to rise in the east.

The benefit here? It will make night driving more interesting as you can anticipate how much more nighttime you have before it's day again.

I'd imagine it can be tied into whatever axis tilt one has the sun adjusted to, and just trace the same path, or give the user the option of giving it a separate axis tilt, just so long as it rises when the sun set, and sets when the sun rises.

Is that feasible? Just a thought and a suggestion on my part. Thank you for your time.
