I have been thinking about how the game should have multiplayer campaign. Multiplayer campaign would be for players looking for the most realistic and satisfying gameplay experience. A few of the features that will consist of multiplayer campaign is a realistic economy system that includes: buying /selling cars, buying car parts, repairs and upgrades for your car, etc. Multiplayer campaign will also have many different types of races and events that the player can participate in and earn money like; street races, rally/offroad races, demolition derbies, etc.

When a player first starts multiplayer campaign, they will start off with a certain amount of money (approximately $2,000 depending on how the market is scaled with used cars in decent condition). That money is used to buy their first used car to start racing. These cars that can be bought from a used car auction, private seller (actual players online), or car dealerships. The first car the players ever buy will be from a used car auction due (or a private seller if the price is within to the affordability. More of the newer, cleaner and higher-end cars will be purchased from private sellers and of course car dealerships. I believe that money should be also hard to get too, which would make it not so easy to get high-end cars quickly.

Cars will have a mileage and also gain more wear and tear as the miles increase. The vehicles should have parts that can break as more wear and tear is put on the vehicle. Some of the parts that should be able to replaced and even upgraded should be: spark plugs/glow plugs, spark plug wires/diesel plug wires, head gaskets, exhaust systems, mufflers, fuel pumps, oil pumps, water pumps, timing chain/belts, batteries, alternators, brake lines, fuel lines, turbos, superchargers, ECU, Nitrous Oxide, fuel injectors/carburetors, air filters, etc. (sorry if it's a bit too much).

All the players should have access to the market of buying, selling and trading vehicles and parts. Players should also be able to make advertisements for the vehicle or part that they are selling too (similar to like a Craigslist ad). Players should also have the decision to put their vehicle or part in an auction where other players can actually bid on that vehicle or part. If that vehicle or part is in high demand, other players will have to outbid each other which would drive up the price up. The only downfall with using the auctions is that there is fee after the vehicle or part is sold-- 10% is deducted from final amount that the player receives when the vehicle or part is sold. Another thing a player could do to sell a vehicle or even part (depending on the condition) to a junkyard for quicker money, but for a lower dollar.

Any vehicle can participate in races (except semi trucks and those little three-wheeled Pigeons). The vehicles should have a performance class on a scale of 1-10, which would make matchmaking for races more balanced for the vehicles. For example, the vehicles with a performance class of 1-3 will be able to all race each other. Also, lets say a vehicle has a performance class of 3, but gets some work done to it to make it faster, it would then put it up to a performance class of 5 for example. As I mentioned earlier about the races being different, any car (with maybe a few exceptions) can participate in the race even if the vehicle is not properly tuned right for that specification. For example, a lowered street car can participate in a rally race, but would be at a disadvantage of course. Most importantly, players want to keep their car in good condition for races and during races, since crashing their car intentionally into other player's cars will also damage their car and they have to pay for their own damages. If a player gets their car totaled, they can strip the car and keep the parts or sell the entire car to a junkyard for quick cash.

For vehicles that needs repairing whether it needs a mechanical repair or body repair, players will have to find a shop to repair it for them. When the vehicle is in the shop for repairs it will take a good amount of time and the player will not have access to that vehicle until it is finished. For example, a player brings their car into a shop to get the spark plugs and head gasket changed, but it takes one hour (real time scale), for that to get finished. If this is not going to far, I also think that players should be able to work on their own car if they buy the right tools, but at that point the game turns into a car mechanic simulator.

Well, I think I got most of my ideas down for this. I apologize if I left any details out or forgot something important since this is a lot of information. If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns, please share them with me. I hope some these ideas are put into Beam.NG, but if not, they would make a good mods in the game if someone creates it. Thanks for letting me share!

first off multiplayer will probably never happen and secondly, having real world wait times is a terrible idea and sounds like it belongs in a terrible mobile/facebook game filled to the brim with microtransations, and secondly if you had to race to make money and all the races were online AND there was repair costs it would ruin the game for people who are bad at racing games like me, for example in street legal racing redline it literally took me over 100 save files(yes I actually counted, after quite a few failed attempts I started naming my save files like 1 then when I ran out of money and my car is broke, I'd name my next save 2 and so on and so forth and before the update that broke save games I was in the high 90s when I finally got a few cars and quite a bit of money) and that would also add one of the reasons I'm not interested in Iracing, if you are a terrible driver you will always be stuck using the low end car. another downside of having the main focus being online is that an online game lives and dies with its community... meaning if in a few years you wanted to play it and nobody else played it you wouldnt be able to get into a game or if there was AI it probably wouldnt have had as much time put into it as it would if it was a single player only game and considering racing games especially are pretty much only playable online if you are insanely skilled the player base would die off VERY quickly and most people like me avoid online in racing games because they know they suck and will never improve. and most people also rely on restarting over and over for hours in racing games to progress and with multiplayer you wouldn't really be able to do that.

You know, you could of just said multiplayer won't work and real time would be bad instead of making an enormous post.
