Multiseat gearbox issue

When i spawn any two vehicles, player one as keyboard and player 2 as a controler..idk what the issue is but player one always defaults back to what feels like manual transmission. So i press q to switch back to arcade. This works but as soon as i press the DOWN⬇️ key the vehicle will not reverse nor go forward until i manually shift with Z or X key..it simply stays in nuetral. So i have to switch gearbox to arcade again every time..is this an update issue or did my settings change somewhere?
Has anyone experienced this issue when playing multiseat? And how can i fix this. Ive tried changing the assist settings in controls. Nothing fixes it. Thanks

Ok it i just realized it does this on single player as well. Keyboard only. Using control works fine.
