Now that I have the proper hardware for producing more regular videos, I've decided to make a regularly updated leaderboard of all my fastest times on the official scenarios and mod scenarios and link to videos (or pictures if I don't have a recording) for each scenario. Some current stats, 45 official scenarios done, 17 scenarios to go, and 9 mod scenarios completed. Key: * means 1 version back (0.8), ^ means two or more versions back. I did runs of every Scenario on Grid Map, meaning a ton new scenarios to add to the list. Also did Forgotten Raceway for an even 10 completed scenarios.
Hadn't done either of those scenarios in a long time and had no picture records either, so did the best I could in half an hour. 0'57.098 on Town Course Short A and 1'01.212 on Town Course Short B. I'll likely go for 0'56 and 1'00 flat when I have more time since I'm so close already. Also want to clean up my lines on B, as I roughed up that poor 200BX more than necessary by popping it over curbs while sliding.
http://images.akamai.steamuserconte...349/D9496AC2FF75520074CEED06C925729C7E91ACC3/ My best time on Canyon Race Edit: I guess I should mention that I was using the SBR4 and not the default car.
Well nice My best is 1.02 on the short a But I think ı can go faster aswell the problem is that I always rollover on the second turn XD
@Berke That's pretty good. Yeah, the trick to that corner as well as taking the sidewalk over the first turn is to shift the weight over it with the pedals. You want to get hard on the throttle just before you hit it to decompress the front suspension so it won't throw the side of the car too far into the air, then drop back off the power to dip the front down and decompress the rear as it goes over the same bump, giving you the lowest chances of tipping over. Still not easy to pull off however. @Ruff4321 Still haven't done a run of Canyon Race with a wheel or the default car, but I got a 3'11.91 with the Hill Climb Sunburst. Thing's a beast. Also, tried out another jumping scenario. Props to @Brambora and @Ilya Higuti, the top times in the Scenario Time Megathread for Jumps and Large Jump are near untouchable. Still a couple hundredths behind on Jumps, but I finally beat the top time on Large Jump and got into the 18 second range after 3+ hours over two days.
@Spec Racer Z Damn dude... and I thought that I was good lol! Do you mind if you share some tips on getting better times?
@Ruff4321 Taking an hour out of your day to watch a video series like the iRacing Driving School can be very helpful, as well as actually going to the skidpad on Gridmap and putting some of the drills into practice. Having a greater understanding of the techniques and physics of racing can only help. You can also watch my runs in this thread or any of the runs in the Clean Driving and Racing thread that include telemetry (the steering position and pedals and axis apps) to study how others are getting better times and try to mimic their inputs. Don't forget you can slow down videos on YouTube as well to look at what's happening in more detail. Beyond that, try setting spawn points a couple turns before any sections that are giving you trouble and practice getting consistent in that specific section rather than trying to brute force the whole route from the beginning every time. Do a turn by turn breakdown and really think through what you're doing so you notice when things go better or worse.
So Port Container Race has definitely been the hardest scenarios to complete so far, let alone drive fast. My ankles were getting sore from all of the extreme constant pedal inputs and adjustments after a couple hours of attempting it in under a minute. Ended up with a 55.888 after two falls right at the very end. Those falls physically hurt after getting so close to the finish. Avidemux has been making editing another scenario compilation a massive pain, but when I find a solution, I did all of the police chase and car chase scenarios, as well as all the heavy truck ones. Will list the times still for an early glimpse. Spoiler: Early Times Bank Robbery: 0'26.512 Destroy the Moonhawk: 0'18.512 East Coast Chase 1: 0'26.754 East Coast Chase 2: 0'22.260 Jungle Rock Island Chase: 0'36.511 Police Patrol: 0'43.007 Small Island Chase: 0'14.260 Broken Truck: 2'48.548 Car Delivery: 1'59.948 Heavy Machinery Delivery: 6'19.705
Finished publishing the two scenario compilations of all the heavy truck and car chase scenarios. In the meantime, I've also been doing some of the shorter scenarios while trying to decide how to group the rest of the scenarios and made a little mishmash video of them so I can still post them here. It includes Drown the Pigeon, Hidden Jump, Moose Test, Shortcut, and Training 1. Hidden Jump in particular went pretty fantastic.
A little different this time, not only did I redo my records on the Hirochi Raceway Circuit scenarios, I also made a track lap guide with full lap commentary of all three courses. A lot of my BeamNG Showdown Series will probably take place on Hirochi Raceway since it's the largest official race track in the game so far and one I enjoy a lot, so felt a proper rundown of the track would be a good idea.
Focused on some mod scenarios this time, doing the Downhill Pessima scenario on Stairway Mountain and all of the Trial Mountain scenarios. Edit: Ended up improving my two fastest Trial Mountain times by quite a lot and turned it into a short episode of my Showdown Series.
Have enough new times for an update. Did Jump Course, did another Stairway Mountain scenario, and redid Road Course 2 while making a controllers showcase.
Did Supercar Rally, Rally to the Port, Rally Small Island Stage 1, Port Shakedown, Autocross, Training 2 and 3, and redid Road Race and Port Escape. I'm doing a Stuntman (PS2) tribute with the Port Escape run though, so might not have that posted for another couple days.
Times under 1 minute on Town Course Short B are definitely possible. I'll upload a video later today. Good work on the scenarios!
@Taza Thank you. And definitely possible, those are one of the few 0.6.1 ones I still want to redo since I didn't put much time in them earlier. Update moving forward though, I'm probably going to avoid redoing scenarios I've already done unless they're more than two major versions old, leaderboards are implemented, or I'm directly challenged to a time attack. Would rather have a video for every scenario up first. Also, added a spot for campaigns in the original post and put Driver's Training and Senseless Destruction in there.
Haven't posted in here for a while. Here's my run of the Cinematic Chase scenario, as well as a new record on Port Container Race using the low rangebox setting, and shooting the gap on event 11 of the Senseless Destruction campaign. Also ran a track in Quick Play in what I imagine is one of the fastest stock configurations for the conditions, but not sure if I want to try and cover the behemoth that is cataloging Quick Play times in various cars into a leaderboard yet.
