My terrain edits on maps are gone? Really?

Oh my god, I spent countless hours on editing maps, some of them are vanilla and some of them are mods. Please don't tell me that is all gone after update?

 

Well, see if there is 0.22 folder in your user folder, maybe there is levels folder and your edits are there, then you need to take back up of those immediately and after that try putting them into 0.23 levels folder, might work.

I have lost lot of work when update came previously, so I usually have backups of user folder on other drive.

With Steam it is really annoying that it can mess things up, so I bought another license from Humble and use that instead, but even with Steam version, you could have a routine and make copy of user folder before launching game, so that Steam forcefully making changes by updating things without you requesting, would not make disaster to happen.

Yeah, I'm not fan of automatic updates.

 

holy crap man. I didn't expect this when i opened up game - everything gone. But luckily there was backup from previous version so i pasted it in 0.23 folder and its back up. I just lost 5 years of my life ... Thank you, and I agree these automatic update are no-no.
