cool skin in all but there are some issues --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- and whatever all that yellow stuff is
Its my first time making skins so there may be some issues. View attachment 928117 new beamng skin. --- Post updated --- I could try yes --- Post updated --- woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLOWOVER TIME!!!!!
it looks like you got a scheme from a random site that gives away free schemes from the heat 5's, 3's,2's and the 2016 and ignition games and then ported it into a beamng template, fixed it then added it into a camaro temp then post it
this is what he means. i took this directly from the logano skin you posted. you just took a random nr2003 .tga file or something, slapped it onto the template, and then went "yeah that looks close enough". i'm always happy to see more people trying to learn how to make their own skins, but it will be more beneficial for you to learn how to do it the right way. what program do you use? i use a program called paint(dot)net because it's what i started with and it's what i'm used to, but i'd recommend using GIMP because it's overall a better program. start small and try simple designs so you can learn how to use it, and then once you're comfortable you can start trying more complicated things. take your time. if you look at it in game and see that some line doesn't connect (ex: a line that goes from the quarter panel to the rear bumper), then go back and fix it. it can be really tedious but will look miles better than just leaving it as-is. i use a site called "bigevilracing" to download car number files, and i normally just use google images for sponsors.
I agree with botpixel, you have to do the designs from scratch, it may take longer, but the final result is way better.
i highly recommend at least attempting to re-create it from scratch. don't use nr2003 bases, and especially don't just rip paint schemes like that. the paint schemes i made when i was first starting out were absolutely awful compared to what i can do now, but that's just part of the process. you're going to be bad before you can be good, it won't come overnight.
Just a tip for ya, I just started making skins in March, I promise you man it’s a lot better to just make your skins from scratch, and let me tell you why: Mainly, if you make the skin from scratch, you have better odds in making a quality skin rather than just slapping something together and calling it a day. Logos for sponsors, numbers, and even stuff like their name rails, are all incredibly easy to find and are also usually already available with the backgrounds removed (.PNG files). And not only that, but you can even change the pixel size of the sponsor logos files you’ve downloaded so when you go to put them on the car, it’s still in perfect quality and you don’t distort it by stretching/shrinking that layer. My second point, is that sense of accomplishment. When I started making skins, I started making fictional ones, just to learn the tools and to try tricks and see what I can do when I have all the availability to make anything I want without worrying of the accuracy of the project. Sometimes you make great ones, sometimes you make ones that you’re just not happy with. You learn from the ones you are and aren’t happy with, even if you don’t realize it, because in the months following you’ll start noticing flaws you used to make you aren’t anymore, or that your overall quality has gone up. For me, check out my 2021 skin pack and then check out my 2018 skin pack, the quality thats grown from my 2021 to 2018 packs is incredible, and I never even realized I could get to be as good as I have gotten at it, and looking back it really does give me a sense of accomplishment, especially when I get to see my work being used in many peoples own projects. That feeling, it’s surreal, I cannot explain it, but when you make the skin from scratch and not copy/paste someone else’s work, man it’s a rush. My third and final point, is that taking someone else’s work and porting it into a new template and saying you made it, is just wrong. I can tell by the Logano template you used, that you didn’t make that, because it’s not how the Gen 6 template is laid out (post #9 on this thread for reference on what template I’m talking about that you used). Personally, if I saw someone taking my work and posting it into a new template and saying it was their work, I would have a nuclear meltdown. I spent hours and hours on each skin, it’s not fair for someone to just take that and say that they did it just because they put it into a new template. I think you can make some really cool skins if you put the work into it, instead of pasting someone’s work from somewhere else into the template. I don’t mean to sound rude, I just want to give you some advice
the guy that posted the temps aka simalar to post #9 can be found here: https://sites.google.com/view/nascardecals34s-templates/home the guy said you can use them for cars. That is why he posted numbers, sponsors, and even DOOR SIGNATURES!
I wasn't trying to be rude about it, truly, I want to help. If he gives permission, by all means use it. But again, slapping a really good premade skin into the template isn't going to make for a really good skin in this game. The little logos on the premade one, they may end up looking "washed out" or fuzzy, you may have logos on the premade be overlapped by logos on the gen 6 template, you may have things overlap in places they shouldn't be in, you might get something where the color on the car doesn't look right, these are all things I'm pointing out just from the Logano skin you ported in. I am all here for more people creating things for the community, and if i can help, feel free to message me, but when I say that it's much better to just make it from scratch and not porting something into the template, it's not to be rude or to hate, it's because I think these could be better if you did it that way. It's just a suggestion
Actually, The owner of that papercraft joey logano got it from a NASCAR heat 5 site or a nr2003 site that gives free paint schemes. There's a possibilty he couldve gotten it on roblox since there was nr2003 schemes on roblox too. All he did was port those schemes in.
Idk where he got it from, but all I am saying is that his skins would look way better if he just tried to recreate the skin rather then just slapping it in and calling it good. If hes got permission, hes got permission, but that doesn't mean they'll work right. A skin for nr2003, roblox, nascar heat 5, may not fit a template for BeamNG.Drive. I hope that makes sense, that's all I'm tryna say
yes. Just download the latest car skin. --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- oops. DO NOT ADD THE 5CARS INTO YOUR FOLDER THERE IS A GLITCH.
