    Native Linux Launcher

    Hi guys!

I don’t know if I’m missing something, but I’m trying to get the native Linux port working on the steam deck via the Deck UI.

I’ve added the Linux executable to the steam library through “add a non-steam game to my library” and pointed it to the Linux executable in the relevant file, the game opens but none of the deck controller buttons work, it seems to still behave in “keyboard and mouse” mode.

I’ve managed to solve the problem of it running at 1fps by disabling full screen and V sync, and I can get the game to load correctly using an external keyboard and mouse, I just can’t get the native controller buttons to work!

Am I missing something stupid? Is there a steam launcher flag I’m missing?

    Tia!

    Hi!

I'm wondering how you managed to get it to run at all? I can launch the game from desktop mode (through steam or just running the binary from a file manager). But pressing play in 'regular Deck mode' just doesn't show anything. I've tried running the binary via ssh (with DISPLAY=:0 env variable) but nothing happens... The game seems to run but the window manager/wayland doesn't show anything...

Any clues? Once I've got visuals I could look into the issue with the controller... I've noticed in desktop mode the Deck switches between K/M-mode and controller-mode based on some in-game context but I've yet to figure out how I can override this. Because Beam really likes to request K/M-mode.

The FPS from the native binary is excellent, though. Solid 60fps in medium!

[update] I've managed to get the game running from 'Deck mode' by launching it via a shell script and running the shell script as a non-steam game. It works, but now there is no using the controller at all. So OPs question still stands...
