Hi, I just started modelling some one of my favourites car and I can see that overall body work is looking realy bad, like out of scrapyard. Is there some blender modifier that will make it a little more smoothier? Tried "subdivision surface" but then model looks like soap dish. Can anyone help me, please? You can see model with added "solidify" modifier.
First off, your progress so far looks pretty good! The mesh looks fairly clean and doesn't look too dense. Don't use subdivision surface as it's unsuitable for models used in games (creates excessive polys). It's easy to solve your "scrapyard" problem - what you're looking for is the Shade Smooth option. It can be found as shown below. As for further suggestions; don't go into too much detail while you're still fleshing out the whole car. You can always add in extra loop cuts and faces to add detail but it's difficult to remove them if you don't need them and keep the mesh clean. As for your poly flow, it looks quite good but could be improved by trying to smooth the lines as much as possible.Try to look like the left hand side rather than the right hand side. This will help keep the shading looking nice Keep going and good luck!
Thank you all for help, now this is my progess on model. I'm very proud of this I used shade smooth and then autosmooth+mark sharp on few edges.
