okay so ive been using a Quadro M4000 to game on for over a year now and im really ready to upgrade. lol but my main question is would a gtx 1650 or 1660 be an upgrade from what i have now even though they are both sort of cheap entry level cards? The Quadro performs very well actually considering i play in 1080p with a mix of high to medium settings with all shadows and dynamic reflections enabled. i keep 60fps 99% of the time with very few drops below that. i just want to have a better gaming card that i can max out 1080 with or maybe have high or medium settings with on 1440p without breaking the bank My Setup for reference: Cpu: Ryzen 7 1700x (Water cooled with AIO) Mainboard: Asrock b450 pro4 AM4 socket GPU: Nvidia Quadro M4000 8gb (same chip as gtx 970 {gm204} iirc) Ram: Hyper x fury 16gb 2x8gb sticks 2400mhz [1 black stick & 1 red stick lol] (ryzen needs faster ram i know) Storage: 128gb Pcie m.2 ssd as boot drive & 240gbish SSD as main storage for games & 500gb shit HDD for everything else PSU: coolermaster 500w (i think?) Case: older model THOR case with alot of intake/exhaust fans
Any card with GDDR6 will likely be an upgrade. If you can afford it, getting one of the Super cards would be your best bet. Normay I'd recommend Radeon cards but with their drivers in the current state on Navi, I can't. Also get at least 3000 MHz RAM for better Ryzen performance. 3000 Mhz RAM isn't expensive.
