Didn't think it would take long for 1 of the 2 NVidia haters to arrive

    More useful info then.
HD 7870 scores 4261 in G3D (test passmark uses). GTX 670 scores 5384. So about a 26% bump in performance if you take benchmark results as pure gospel (which they are not).

The GTX670 is a decent card, heck its 13th place on passmark overall whereas the HD7870 is 31st.

For comparison with my "gaming" rig though, GTX 460 only gets 2665 placing it at 72nd although mine has a slight overclock added to it and my laptops intel HD 4000 gets 455 placing it at 418th. Oh how wonderful, absolutely wonderful indeed. My old computers GPU isn't on passmark, 3dfx Voodoo2 yo'

From my past, my AMD build got really hot! but I got it for dirt cheap! but my nvidia / intel build runs so cool! :D my NIVIDIA GPU games cooler than my AMD GPU on idle :D, but its just that nvidia is super expensive :( but you get really really really good card in the end, but its just better to get some cons with AMD, but you can get it super cheap :)

A GTX 670 is around about the same as a 7950/7970 depending on core clock speeds. I am running a GTX 670 and it pretty much gets 60FPS at 1080p with all maps.

While I can't speak for the 670, I will say that I had a 7970 for a short time. It ran a maxed BeamNG (AA, postfx, max texture size, etc) at upwards of 45fps, averaging around 50fps on DRI. However, it did reach 90c+, and hit 100c fairly regularly. The fan sounded like a 747 taking off. Glad I swapped for a 770; it does 60fps @ 60c :D

Both cards were working with an OC'd 4670k, so that won't be bottlenecking them. Much.
