Hi all, I am thinking about getting a new graphics card and wanted to know if I can run BeamNG with it.
I have, AMD FX-4130, 8GB Ram, 1TB HDD, and a Nvidia Geforce 630 GT (yes a GT I just needed something cheap). I currently get about 45 FPS lowest settings with the default pickup truck on gridmap. I am thinking of getting a Nvidia Geforce GTX 750Ti, this is the amazon link to the one I was looking at: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I602S92/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&
So I want to be able to run BeamNG at higher settings and use cars like the SBR4 without dropping to 15FPS.

    Thanks,
    Xander52

A 750 Ti will be fine on the graphics side. You will have a CPU bottleneck though, but you should be able to get decent frame rates in mid to high graphics 1080p.

Are you sure? Maps are getting more complex, like Jungle Rock Island, and with a lot of props/trees like that the framerate tends to tank. I struggle to get 60FPS at 1080p and that isn't even at max settings. Toruqe3D feels like more of a hog than the Beam engine itself, but at least Beam running slowly would be justified.

It might be a better idea to wait until you have the money for a card that you know for a fact will run well, rather than spending it all now on something uncertain.

JRI is fine - I can max out the game (except for reflections) and stay at 60fps with some drops to 50-55.

Industrial site though, frequent drops to 35-40 when I look at the part with the buildings. Pretty sure it's an issue with static meshes in T3D.

Still, a 750 Ti shouldn't have much trouble running the less demanding maps at 1080p 40-50 fps mid settings. I would be more worried about the FX-4130.

I just want to be able to run the less demanding maps and med or high, and still get 30 FPS what ever car I use, and on more demanding maps, be able to use cars like the SBR4 with low settings with 30 FPS
60 FPS is nice, but not a necessity.

I wonder if I maybe have bad settings for my reflections and the double-rendering of the trees is killing it on JRI. Otherwise, I can't think of any real reason for a weaker GPU to be getting 10-20FPS more at essentially the same settings.

I know for a fact it isn't my CPU, because if I pause the physics the framerate doesn't go up at all.

At those settings my 750 Ti gets ~30 fps.

So what? If OP could afford a 970, they wouldn't buy a 750Ti in the first place...

If you play in 1080p and can afford it, go for it, it's a great card, even if you upgrade your system later :)

Alright, as this chart (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=35&cmp[]=2815&cmp[]=71) says, it's somewhere between the "Moderate"- and "High End"-requirements, so it should run fine, like Firepower said (listen to the lion and the Fallout-guy! ;) ). As for the CPU, you might want to upgrade to better FX-processor later.

And, oh: You want to look if your PSU can do it, although it won't be a problem with a 60W-card, just telling you for later, you might need the info. :p

I have a good Antec 500w PSU so I will probably be good.

You'll be great. There's a lot of room left for upgrades, still.
