    Hello everyone, I am creating a new suburban styled map that will feature a residential area, mini city and a highway to wrap around the map.
    This is the layout of the map that I will try to follow
    layout.png
    I will update this thread with new developments of the map as they are completed.
    Priorities:
    Red = High Priority
    Grey = Normal Priority
    Green = Low Priority
    Suburban Area (0%)
    City (0%)

    Forest (0%)
    Roads (0%)
    Bus Stops (0%)
    Bus Lines (0%)
    PBR (0%)

    Decal Roads / AI Roads (0%)

    The first thing I have completed in this map is the service station in the suburban loop. I made a fence around it, parking lines, and a pretty good layout.

    Looks nice. Looks like the west coast of the France.

    Hello all. I have been lacking motivation to work on this map. First I was sick for a few days, but then I got better, but I had no motivation to work on the map. Then I got sidetracked working on some other things and playing the new game I got. But I will start working on the map again. This just means that it will take longer to get the first status updates out. Sorry about that!
    This map will take longer to make than the Grundorf map though. This is 4 times bigger, and will have a lot more features in it too. I think thats the reason I lost motivation for it, because its such a big thing to do. However, I will just work on it, doing it bit by bit though. Some progress is better than none, right?
    Thank you all for reading!

    I do agree there, the same scenery over and over again will become boring to drive on all the time, but remember that creating a good map that's big and has alot of details will take lots of time. Yesterday when I was working on the map, it took me a pretty long time to just add some houses with fences and some curbs going along the road. I guess this is more of a quality over quantity situation. Either get a really big map with lots of details that takes a long time to make, or a small map with not many details that took 1 month to make

    My favorite kind of map to drive on- can't wait. Beam needs more maps like this.

    Agreed. Open world maps are my favourite, especially ones that have a lot of details in them, such as road lines and good scenery. They'd make for a really good cruising map on a sunset! Unfortunately 4096x4096 is the biggest the map size that's stable currently for the game engine, so maps bigger than Italy won't be coming out a lot (Unless you set square size to a high number)

    Hi all. This project has been put on hold because I am working on a new project, a full new vehicle. I cant really work on two projects at once, so one of them has to take priority, and that is the vehicle. 60% of the 3D stuff is already done, where as 40% of the suburban area is only done in the map. I still have to do half the loop of houses, fences, curbs, trees, let alone small details like street lights etc. The map is going to take the longest, and I want to make something in the meantime, so I am working on the vehicle from now on. I still think the vehicle is more urgent because BeamNG is really in need of a new bus, and I have a lot of motivation to get it done, whereas this map, I dont really, probably because of how long it will take if I want it to be perfect. When the bus is done, I will resume on the map.

    I hope you can all understand
