I must say for the very first time, I am frustrated with BeamNG.drive. I can't believe I have to TURN MY ANTIVIRUS OFF, to supposedly make the friggin' game Update/Install correctly. Turning it off doesn't seem like such a bad idea at first, but when you turn you Antivirus off, you are IMMEDIATELY susceptible to a virus/bug. I understand it's no small feet to create an entire game (Especially a physics engine)and not have any bugs every once in a while during an update(P.N. that it could also be the users computer, but I doubt that personally since so many people have experienced literally the EXACT SAME PROBLEM). I am not going to have my money back. I wish to continue to support BeamNG.drive, EVEN in circumstances like this. I wish the devs luck, and I hope they consider this forum as a in depth expliation of my/others issues.

(It's going to be hilarious once we find a fix, and I'll think this is a dumb thread)

    Thank you.

    Tony.

    My Issues:

    No Launch Icon after install.
After using the icon in AppData, it tells me the files are corrupted, even after a completely new download.
Updater Telling me it's unable to finish updating because its already being used.
EVEN after disabling Antivirus BeamNG.drive does not work properly.
Have Re-downloaded multiple times and still does not work properly.
If you are experiencing any of these issues, or issues similar, wait, the Devs are busy. Let them in their own time come out with another Patch.

Turning antivirus off does not immediately open you to viruses at all. Did you know that viruses simply cannot install themselves? In order to be infected with malware you pretty much have to initiate the process whether it be by downloading a malicious program or by opening certain files (PDF's used to be able to have malware embedded into them, XP systems are particularly vulnerable as part of the exploit used was patched in windows itself from 7 onwards and later backported to vista, XP has not been secured).
Hell. Its possible to run a computer without any antivirus software at all and never be infected. Highly unadvisable to do so of course but possible.
The only real autoinstall scenario is via malware exploiting java and flash browser plugins which is why I have the java browser plugin uninstalled entirely, both of these are particularly prevalent for OSX malware which contrary to popular belief does exist and is on the rise (linux malware is rising too).

2 of the best windows antiviruses in my opinion are microsoft security essentials (which is free for 7 and below, built into windows defender on windows 8) and Avast, both of which do not obstruct BeamNG. BeamNG being picked up by antivirus isnt BeamNG's fault, its called a false positive and its down to the antivirus vendor to fix it.

ANyway, fix has been posted numerous times.

COMPLETELY uninstall BeamNG.drive. Completely disable antivirus (and if its mcafee or norton uninstall it because both are terribly inferior to about any other product on the market). Redownload BeamNG.drive from the download button above. Install it. Then you may re-enable anti-virus after confirming its working. So far I am yet to see anybody for whom this doesn't work except a few people who it transpires actually didn't follow the steps or forgot to redownload the game first or something.

Accusing us of this kind of things is not nice. You can contact our support to get your money back: http://www.beamng.com/contactus/

We are working on this problem, but it is not easy to solve if the anti-viruses are getting triggered because they use wrong heuristics in the first place :(

Turing your antivirus off for a few minutes won't put you at risk. I've had cases where I accidentally left mine off for weeks at a time and didn't even pick up a single bit of adware.

If you're really worried, just don't go on any sketchy sites while you're updating the game.

TL;DR; Calm down and educate yourself before blurting accusations and saying stupid things.

My apologies everyone. It's just that I can be very short tempered when it comes to electronics. It was actually hard enough for me to decide whether or not I should have posted this apology. It is quite embarrassing. I must make formal apologies to BeamNG.drive devs for being a stupid no-brained idiot. Please forgive my childish behavior.

(BTW thank you guys for the fixes, I hope they work...(And for thinking I know everything about Antiviruses))
