New Updater error

I got kind of lazy and just downloaded the new updater. I started it up and got this:

Not sure what to do here... Can someone help me?

 

You didn't extract the program, thus it's running in a temporary folder where it has no permission.

Please extract the program to desktop or something like that. That should work.

Computing 101, never ever ever run an application from within a zip archive

 

ok lol thanks for the help...it ran smoothly...one more thing though...after i ran it it created a new Alpha stable folder. What do I do with that.

 

Uhm... keep one and delete the other?

I do it, every single time, even with my own applications I tell people it's okay xD

I always launch .exe files from .zip files.. well.. if its somthing I downloaded then I will xD not like GTA or anything like that

 

A single exe in a zip will work fine but windows extracts the exe to a temporary folder and runs it there, if it reads from another file of course that original file is still in the zip not the temporary folder so it won't work, the application doesnt get write permissions in that temporary folder so it can't save any files it requires. So nice and simple, don't do it.

 

i do that with everything that i can, to lazy to extract every single thing i download (for example, the beamng installer)

 

where do I download the new updater? If your wondering, "WHY HE HAZ NO BADGE, HE PIRATE!" I was banned for being underage last year.

no doubt the existing download link you can already access will be switched for the new updater upon launch in 3 or 4 days (I could just look at the live tab, but so can you)

 

Just because you made a second account doesn't mean you should be any less banned.
