I was just wanting to know among those who are presently creating cars as to what tools you are using and where to find them. I've been looking around endlessly trying to find out exactly what I need to do to get started. The wiki suggests blender ( which I used ages ago ) and some python import/export scripts. I've installed/uninstalled various versions because either the plugins or python version is buggy or outdated.

I'm also not sure if I should just use all the ROR tools to create things and then just convert them over. Not sure of the best way to go about it.

Blender can be annoying because only certain versions of python only work with certain versions of Blender etc. I have other modeling programs such as Modo, Zbrush, so my main concern is being able to import, modify/create, and export .truck files and then I guess converting them over to JBeam files. Some of the import/export python scripts that I have found is either buggy, outdated, or no longer supported.

I'm really wanting to create some beat up, classic stock cars such as the 57 chevy, nomad, impala, camaro, etc.

    Any help?
