Newbie: Steering with Logitech dual action impossible-How to fix?

Hi,
I try to steer with my Logitech Dual Action Controller. The Game shows the controller in the settings but when I try to reconfigurate the controller (throttle left toggle up, brake left toggle down) the game shows conflicts.
After configuration the car is driving crasy and don't react on inputs from the Controller. All buttons aren't working.
And, I'm wondering why I can't select the controller als stand alone device. There are all controll options displayed.
Do I need a special controller? I don't have a xbox. A steering wheel isn't available too.

BTW: I can use my Logitech with every race game exept beamng drive.
Can anyone help me to solve the problems or my stupidity?
