Starting this project today and im almost done with the full tube chassis. Im a noob in blender so yeah expect it to ass lol. But heres what i have so far. The engine i got from some guy and yes i asked permission to use it and he allows it. 7/29/18 --- Post updated --- Alright i need your guys help! When im working in blender i join two verticles together with the key "F" and it makes like another verticle sometimes its pissing me off lol
Could I suggest this body shell? It's an Australian Holden HQ Monaro (like my profile pic and my favourite car) owned by Australian and Queenslander John Zappia, and right now its the fastest steel bodied car in the world. Yes its a doorslammer but it would be cool. Its fastest pass is a 5.69 @250 mph (one of the fastest in history). And keep in mind its a full steel bodied car. Beat that Street Outlaws.
if anyone is willing to do the jbeam for the body and a simple engine jbeam i will give them credit for the help! thanks.. im just not good at jbeam but im good at other Engines and modeling.
All you would need to do is port the Moonhawk/Barstow's .dae into Blender, ya yada, done. I can't because I'm busy rn but I might try tomorrow if you want.
Some of your normals are flipped on your chassis (causes weird shading). Go into edit mode, click mesh, normals, recalculate outside, this should fix it. --- Post updated --- About the joining vertices thing. Press "alt+m" then select join at center. Instead of creating an edge between the two vertices it will join them.
Not until i find someone to do the jbeam Im also working on engine modeling. i want to get decent in it before i move to chassis work.
i suck at blender, but you could message dummiesman, He's good at stuff like this, he did create a late model stock car, very close to what you're making
