Please add damage to the roof when you roll over because I have seen many videos having cars roll in BeamNG.drive and I have tried too but the roofs do not even get a dent.

Try rolling over better, I really don't know what else to say.

What are you talking about? The roof does crush, it's just a matter of getting the vehicle to hit its roof while it's flipping over.

People don't understand that this game is purely physics biased... which means if a vehicle does something they think it shouldn't they think that its wrong when more then likely, its just their view of the real world is skewed.

But yes, as proven above, the roof has exactly the same level of physics as the rest of the car so if you hit it right, it will bend and/or break.

I mean when you roll it slowly. A normal car would take damage on a slow roll.

Roofs are specifically designed not to collapse in a rollover. You wouldn't expect a modern car roof to fold like foil from a minor roll like that.

atv_123 hit the nail on the head regarding perceptions.

    Thread over, move on.

But there was no dent or anything on the roof. That does not make sense. A roof would take a little bit of damage when it rolls from 10 metres in the air.

It all depends on how the car ends up on it's roof.
As said above, roofs are designed to be safe, not to crush under the car's weight.

The thing is that probably the lack of 'scratches' in BeamNG.Drive that is giving you the impression the roof isn't taking any damage.

Very true, and this video really gives a great demonstration of stability control.

I agree with Nadeox1, but car roofs need to be able to withstand 3 times the vehicle's weight as well as the structural integrity of the roof.

    EXAMPLES:
    SUV with weak roof:

    SUV with federally-required roof strength:

This and sounds like in the video would make it way more believable.

That along with a damage layer... basically a small texture layer full of little dents... RoR had one back in the day even if very few cars actually used it. But I am sure that this kind of feature will be added eventually. It already kinda exists in the windows.

The 2 things i think that would make beamng more "believable" and realistic looking in crashes is if there were dynamic or semi dynamic scratches and more / better particles, i know this has been suggested alot but when you see a crash you dont see every single part just bend and stay perfectly in 1 solid piece, there are lots of little dust particles and glass particles and smoke and plastic and paint etc... Also when you roll over for example the paint shouldnt be in pristine condition after scraping the ground for several hundred feet.

Just saying it would make the game look alot nicer and be more of a competition to wreckfest's particle system. If that is still even a competition.
