I love the cars in BeamNG and they will continue to be the driving force of the game. We have already seen that planes seem to work fairly well in the game, but how feasible are other modes of transportation to this game? Will we see boats on the water or even ferries chugging cars from one island to another? Will high-speed trains be able to whoosh down tracks and into stations? Can the maps be large enough to simulate a short commercial jet flight? Any insight into the viability of these simulatory dreams would be highly appreciated . (an inexperienced noob signing off).
There is no buoyancy yet, so boat's can't do their job yet, and any plane will work, but there is probably some weird one someone will come up with to prove me wrong. Bikes do not really work, as weight shifting is a must, and the only bike we have falls over after a few seconds. Trains, I am unsure of. They probably work, but idk.
Most of these ideas have been mentioned, as far as I can remember, here's what was said Boats are not yet possible, as BeamNG does not support buoyancy, therefore a boat would simply sink. I think that trains are possible? I know chris_lucas was making working booms for a railway, so perhaps BeamNG does support trains, but I'm not entirely sure on this one Planes are entirely possible, so a commercial jet would be doable, so long as someone has the motivation to build it. A large map is also possible, though large detailed maps would eat FPS like a really hungry computer bug. Something of flight simulator quality may be viable, with extra detail placed at the terminals.
