*Now* BeamNG changes my folder paths! Why?

Feb 27, 2019 thru Apr 29, 2019... my custom changes, mods, addons, etc. were directed to my:

"C \ BeamNG.drive_userpath".

I was told this wasn't too unusual if I downloaded the game through steam to begin with.

Then came the v0.15.0.6.8316 hotfix update for the Nvida drivers on April 30th.

Now as of April 30, 2019-- 4:20am my time when I went to run the game again... my screen display settings were all altered, my mods I saved from the repository were all gone, because the new folder path is now like everyone else's for the first time ever:

"C \ Users \ John \ My Documents \ BeamNG.drive"

I supposed I really don't care which one it chooses, so long as either works. But whichever one it chooses to use, keep it, be consistent, and don't stop using one, switch to the other, and leave me in a lurch, having to move all my content from the first one to the second one. That's my issue.

Why would it use the root level user path for the first two months I have the game, and then upon the latest update, arbitrarily decide it's going to create a BeamNG file in my documents folder, when it made no prior attempt to ever do so before?

Now which folder do I trust to put my stuff in?
Maddening I do dare say!

 

"C \ Users \ John \ My Documents \ BeamNG.drive"

That one, I guess, as that's the default path for the BeamNG folders

This is the right one:

I'm not sure what happened the first time, but it seems to have corrected it's self now. There is no need to use the old one anymore.
