"Nvidia GeForce Experience" ...?

Greetings,

As I'm questioning in game performance, is this...

1. Generally a good thing that I want to embrace?

2. Something to be avoided and removed? -- Especially as it is always (often/sometimes?) nagging me about "Alt + Z" whenever I start a session.

3. Neither embrace nor remove, but simply ignore?

I guess my secondary concern (beside degradation of performance), is getting caught up in the mess of it sharing some of the same key bindings as the game itself.

If computer specs are important to the conversation, then let me know & I'll give them, but I figured this was one of those questions that could be answered without them... (obviously an Nvidia GPU is a given here).

Nvidia GeForce Experience is a configuration utility, and software for Nvidia GeForce GPUs. It is not "something to be avoided and removed". As for bindings, the software most likely provides a way to change the binding so that it does not conflict with games. Specs are irrelevant here since this is solely about software features.

I can't help with any specifics of that software though since I have an AMD video card, but plenty of others probably have GeForce cards and can answer any further questions you may have about it.

 

Ok, very well. I apparently misunderstood its use. I thought it was more like Windows 10's "gaming mode" tack-on software. Didn't realize it more or less functions like the GPU's *entire* control dashboard. Then I'm definitely not removing it! That's for sure!

It isn't the entire control panel, as there is another piece of software for that too called Nvidia Control panel. Basically, Nvidia GeForce Experience provides additional features for GeForce-equipped PCs. It attempts to optimize driver settings for specific games for example. I would not recommend removing it unless it is having issues.
