Official Discord Launch Announcement

Greetings BeamNG community,


Extremely excited to share that today we are ready for a soft launch of the official BeamNG.drive Discord server!

There has been significant demand for an official server and for the past couple of weeks we’ve been working on the best approach to implement it. I wanted to take some time to explain the details of our setup and how we plan on expanding it in the future.

To keep the moderation manageable initially, we’re starting out with a limited set of channels. You will find the most up-to-date information on the channel’s purpose in the #welcome channel and within pinned messages.

Certain actions are indefinitely restricted, for example, it will not be possible to attach files or share URLs except for dedicated channels or to whitelisted resources (BeamNG websites, Steam, social media, Twitch, and similar). Trusted members of the community will not have these restrictions, currently, these are members with the role Content Creator (apply via media@beamng.com) or Contributor (will be given automatically to active, helpful users).

We have enabled automatic removal of offensive content, which will also issue warnings, so please be reasonable.

In parallel with this announcement, we are also opening applications for Community Moderators to assist us with Discord moderation. If you’re interested, feel free to send an email to support@beamng.com with the following details:

• Your forum username, Discord tag, and Steam profile
• Your experience with BeamNG
• Your past moderation experience if you have any
• Which time zone are you currently active in?

Please also note that you must be at least 18 years old as the process will require you to sign an NDA with us. All candidates will be reviewed and selected on a case-by-case basis.

And as always, we’ll be looking for your feedback and suggestions for channel expansion. But we won’t be rushing into drastic changes right away, we’re planning on keeping the current setup until we complete the server verification process with Discord, which is currently on hold.

Once this process is complete, we will expand our setup as needed and celebrate with a proper grand opening

We aim to use Discord for direct communication and feedback collection, and as a channel to share small development updates. More details on those formats will be shared later.
