i'm sorry to break it to you but 2015 was 8 years ago. i think that's og enough. but congrats on being around since 2013. u were 10 years younger back then.
i remember watching the og tech demo when it came out but I first played the game on a friends computer in 2016
i remember bugging my dad to go to the store just to buy a gift card, just so i could order beamng on fastspring at release. since then, beamng managed to change my life forever. had downloaded maya 3d to try and learn to model, only to give up and get blender lol. i also remember uploading a few repo mods before the copyright purge and well. rip those mods. time really flies by fast, its really hard to believe its been 10 years already since beam originally released.
wait wrong number 5800x i meant --- Post updated --- The what??? how havent i heard of this?? any more details that yall can spare?
Yeah so when they first added the in-game repo connection to the website they removed any vehicle or mod in general that had any real life trademarked brand/logo/etc. Since the in-game repo comes default with the game, and the game costs money, by having anything that is trademarked on the repo online here would mean that trademarked logo/vehicle/etc is also in game, meaning that there would be a trademark infringement since BeamNG would profit from in-game trademark use if users buy the game and download any mod from the in-game repo with a trademark. To avoid this and proceed with the in-game repo function, any and all mods that featured any form of real life trademark, such as real life vehicles, brands, etc, were removed from the repo prior to the update with the in game repo. They could be readded to the in-game repo on the condition that all trademarks were wiped form them, like logos and whatnot. Thats why the Ford Zakspeed Capri you find now on the repo is just a blob of red, white, and black shapes, since it was hastily done in this manner to just cover up the brand names that were on it prior.
I think I signed up for the forums the first or second day the general public could. I found out through the RoR forums. I had joined the RoR forums in 2008, early 2009, pre-Burnside, pre-Gavril brand. I think the most advanced car at the time was Gabester's LS430... We were just past the point of cars being boxes with straight up textures being painted on top of them.
my friend had a forums account here around 10 years ago, but then he abandoned it. i tried searching but no dice, he may have gotten removed, who knows. i found out and i kid you not, played the tech demo for 10 minutes i dont even know how long ago, then many moons later got the game mid-covid cause i was bored and goin through some stuff so i figured i could smash cars and take my anger out on them and not my family. doin better tho. still remember some Beam moments ill never forget
Og means since lauch, 2015 is mid af --- Post updated --- Bro 5900x is much better for beamng. I want to play beammp servers with 12+ players with no dips, so 5900x is necessary. + my pc is pretty much built for beamng
I remember following a player from roblox, and then found his youtube which had Rigs of Rods, a few years later, when I bought my desktop in march 2014, I learnt that BeamNG had a tech demo, and asked my dad to buy it on august 2014. Sooner or Later I transferred the license to my steam account when the option was made available
