    Hello to all

I am new to this game but i fall in love right away.
I don't know if this is the right place to post but it is an idea i would love to see on future update.

Old cars were hard to start. Especially when the engine was cold we had to pump the gas pedal a lot and even pull the choke knob out. I don't know if this is feasible right now but it would be nice to implement.
Also i have noticed that when the engine is about to fail and we hit the ignition button it will not stop trying to start until the engine fails. Is it possible for the engine to crank as long as the start button is pressed?

    Thank you for reading!
    Keep up the excellent work

I assume that it's possible to make an engine hard to start in the jbeam. I've messed with values before to make a burnside that cranks for a while, or needs to be rolling to start

the number for the friction setting, I found that it must be 4 or higher to start the engine. if you make it quite low such as 1 you'll need to roll it to start it.

Would it be reasonably easy to add a choke knob to some of the older cars in Beam?

This is where i would also like to suggest a temperature system coming with the weather we set. So a "cold" start makes exhaust smoke more visible then on a sunny warm start. Frost on the windshield makes problem to start without enableing the windshield air warmer

You shouldn't edit the base game files, they are locked for a reason. Any changes you make will be pretty quickly reverted. Instead, you should copy the file you wish to edit from
    steamapps/common/BeamNG.drive/content/vehicles/burnside.zip/vehicles/burnside/burnside_engine.jbeam
    to
    documents/beamng/vehicles/burnside.
Also, don't change the friction value of the engine, it'll cause it to perform incorrectly. Change the starter properties instead by adding the line "starterTorque": 40, then changing it until you get the desired results.

    Hello!

I have opened burnside_engine.jbeam with notepad++ but there is code for every single combustion engine on the game. Is there a specific line i should add the line "starterTorque": 40?

Sorry but i have limited experience on programming.

I also wanted to ask if there is way for the engine to crank as long the start button is pressed. Right now if the engine is damaged and i press the start button the engine will keep cranking.. (forever???)
