I am trying to add a paint slot to my Cloud mod, and am taking the code from a newly exported version of the car. I copied the code exactly, but the paint slot will not appear. This paint slot appears to be in the "camso_core.jbeam" file.

this is the file I am trying to get the line of code from. it is the paint_design line at the bottom

and this is the file I'm trying to copy the code too, it was not there before

This is what I see when I look up "paint" on the modified car

and this is it on the car with the pre-installed paint slot

and this car is not modifed

notice how the first one says name and active part on the top instead of saying no results found like the bottom one? it seems like the game knows its there, but can't display it

Yes, I had the mod unpacked. Yes, I restarted the game after applying the changes. the vehicles did not appear when the edits were finished, before the restart. Please help!

The slot just won't appear if there are no parts added for it.

It might be a slot type issue.
The “doesn’t show anything but doesn’t say there’s nothing” happens when the slot exists, but has no parts assigned to it.

Oh ok, how do I assign a part?

Well, you make one, and then put “paint_design” as the slot type.
