Painting Tool is WICKED Slow

    Hello,
    I am creating a map and when I use the paint terrain tool to paint the terrain texture, it is really laggy all the sudden.

    Specs:
    GTX 1080TI Aorus Xtreme 11GB
    16GB Ram Installed
    Ryzen 7 1800x @ 3.6ghz
    Double 2Tb Drives

    I think thats normal, its been that way for me for ages now, in general the world editor as a whole is beyond useless other than for placing objects.

    Why none of this happens here.. :think:

    How big is the terrain, the resolution of the heightmap, squaresize and the brush size you are using?

    If you're using the autopaint tool, that is just the nature of the beast.
    If you're using manual paint, it may be due to map resolution or brush scale.

    I've had this when a decal road was nearby with the option 'over objects' was selected. Deselect it, and reselect it later is an easy solution to that.

    The terrain is actually 8192 by 8192, which is quite large, but I was hoping to use most of the map, and have extra space left over to add on in the future.

    Yes, I have always had that issue with autopaint, but I am never using it again for that reason.

    Same issue here on an 8k terrain. Freezes my entire game and makes random terrain while the game is locked up.

    I had problems with forming the terrain on one of my maps, it was very laggy. And then i tried to delete the forest object and it fixed it. For now it is like butter, when sculpting the terrain :)

    I doubt 8k things were even a thing when T3D was being worked on.
    Officially, it can go up to 4k, over that is all pure luck (and performance heavy)
