I know this is a very very small map but it is also my first map and downloadable thing on BeamNG Drive. I was still getting used to the editor and getting all the files together. I hope you guys like it!! I know I said that it wasn't going to be released but I will try...don't be disappointed if the map doesn't load or you get a ton of error messages. But if it loads perfectly like the pictures than give me some constructive feedback. Thanks, Msurf15 DOWNLOAD: https://www.mediafire.com/?n4itg18wywb46m4
iit was becuse your new and you first thing is a really good map sorry i take it back - - - Updated - - - and wow that is small
Its fine dude I can see where your coming from...I had to follow a like 1 hour long tutorial on the basics of the editor...hahaha I was having a ton of trouble with larger maps...so I decided why not go really really small and just try it out.
Doesn't look terrible. Small maps are great for first timers, allows you to really stuff a lot of detail into them. Good job.
The same thing happens to me. I'm not entirely sure why. I usually just upload it to a file sharing site like Dropbox, then post a link. It's not the recommended way on the forum, but it's the only way I can.
That website says my file is too big. - - - Updated - - - Ok well thanks for the help anyway... - - - Updated - - - Sorry guys I am canceling the map...this game makes me so mad its so confusing
Mediafire is an easy to use and free upload service. Paste a link and you're map won't have to be canceled. Host it through Mediafire and everyone can enjoy it. It may be a good alternative until you can get it hosted onto the site here.
Its not that I don't want to upload it through there its just that...look at this...all I did was update the game and went to my map and this happened: The .TER file is there
I don't suppose you've made a copy previously of the map folder? Something that each of us learns (sometimes the hard way sadly ) is that a back-up should always be saved elsewhere in case something gets corrupted either via a game update or some other instance. If you don't have a back-up copy of the map folder from before your update, why not attempt to build upon what you've learned in making the first map and revise this thread by remaking the map but as an improved version?
This has happened to several other people on the forums, and is a lesson to always create your own new map from scratch (I.E. don't modify any existing maps without saving them as a unique level). The updater is designed to re-download any files that deviate from the stock configuration, including any maps or vehicles you may have modified. I highly recommend following this tutorial if you decide to give level creation another go: Tutorial-Making-a-terrain-for-Beam-NG-(in-depth-guide-with-pictures). You could run the updater 100 times and not have your map effected, if you had created it as shown in this guide.
I dont think I changed anything but I probably did knowing me... cool I think I will give that a try and try and make a map from there I will try to revise this thread like the guy above me said to do But what is funny is That I did save as a separate map in the editor which is weird ...
Always make a copy of your map folder as well. An easy place to save that back-up folder of the map you are working on is your desktop. That way if the map in your BeamNG folder ever gets corrupted, you can copy over the back-up files and be good to go.
