Hi, I recently upgraded my PC and my motherboards been playing up. It's an asus P8Z68-V Pro (1155 Socket). It is telling me that my ram is bad by having a solid red light. Ive tried everything, even running it on bare minimum! Please help! I want to get back to making my desert map that will hopefully be released soon! BTW my ram is fine.

    Thanks

Did you try installing different RAM? Just in case it is a RAM problem.

Well, try each stick of RAM in a different slot. Maybe one of your RAM sticks or one of the slots are bad.

Unfortunately, I can't get my hands on new ram anytime soon, and my ram slots are fine

I meant try it with each individual stick to see if one of em is broken?

I'd agree with the checking of RAM by testing each stick in different slots one at a time. Just because it's new doesn't mean it isn't faulty.

I've dealt with many DOA failures in my previous life as a computer technician (current job loosely involves being a server engineer now so I've gone up in the world!!).

It is very common for ram to be DOA, or to not last long. Well, moreso than any other component type. Try each individual stick to see if they work. If not, find a junked PC in your area and try RAM out of that. Or get a friend to let you borrow his RAM for an afternoon to figure out if it's bad RAM or a bad mobo.

You still haven't said that you tested each RAM stick. It seems unlikely to me that the problem is your board..
