As long as I can remember my PC would randomly shut down while I’m playing beam. No FPS drop, no crash, just normally playing one sec, completely off PC the next. Anyone have this issue and know a fix?

maybe it causes it to heat up enough to trigger a shutdown?

That happens to me while playing beam sometimes. It's always due to overheating. Do you have a laptop?

sounds like you may need to clean your pc of any Dust and possibly redo the thermal compound between the heatsink and CPU

Figured it out, my case has terrible cooling and I’m upgrading the fans.

You're nearly always going to run into thermal issues on laptops, unless its a very high end one with a well designed thermal solution. If it is overheating that is causing your shutdowns (check "Event Viewer") then there isn't really a fix other than to maybe change your thermal paste if it hasn't been done recently, clean the exhaust and the fans and maybe invest in a laptop cooling pad.

Without any specs we can only speculate about this.

Not necessarily true, I've never had my laptop shut down because of temperature, and I wouldn't call it very high end – but it does reach 80 degrees right after launching Beam. Most modern laptops will rather downclock your CPU and GPU before shutting down completely – so I expect the issue to be either clogged airflow or boiling hard drive (that's the only thing I can think of that could kill it without warning).

Depends on how it is configured in BIOS. Some will immediately shut off when reaching a certain CPU temperature as a safety measure.

I don't think my laptop has ever shut down because of high temperatures, which actually surprises me. I have my CPU set to always stay at its turbo clock speed of 4 GHz, and sometimes the CPU will almost reach 100 degrees Celsius when I play BeamNG. I honestly kinda feel bad for it, lol. All I've done is prop it up so it gets better airflow, always keep it plugged in, and clean it out every once in a while...
