    PenguinvilleNG is a large urban environment for BeamNG. It is a third-party development and as such, I cannot provide screenshots with actual BeamNG vehicles or physics at this time.

    It will include many elements requested in maps for Rigs of Rods, and new features as well:

    • Ports
    • Container terminals
    • Warehouses
    • Factories
    • Bus routes and lanes
    • Schools
    • Police Stations
    • Fire Stations
    • Large parking lots for setting up autocross tracks and crap
    • Things that other people suggest that are actually fun for people who just want to drive cars/trucks/buses fast and crash them instead of doing weird role-playing stuff
    • Anything else people suggest that I find worth including.

    How to install:

    1. Put the folders inside the zip into the "game" folder of your CryEngine installation.
    2. Open the level with the CryEngine Editor. (it's not set up to run with the launcher if you try it that way it will dump you in the water somewhere!)
    3. Hit CTRL+G to fire up the game engine and drive around in a humvee or something. (Hit F to get in a vehicle.)

    MUST HAVE for release:


    • Build out and complete road grid (4-5 roads to go, many intersections, many stripes remain to be added.)
    • Scrapyard (Started - Needs trailer, industrial shredder, car crusher)
    • Container Terminal (needs gate, cranes, maybe a boat?)
    • Grain Elevator
    • Police Station
    • High School
    • Factories (Miracle Chair Co., some generic factory which I haven't named.)
    • Distribution Center (X Logistics Co. (X Gon' Give it to ya!))
    • Break Bulk Docks (three, one abandoned)
    • Really Shady Bar (as a starting point for really shady missions)
    • Pizza Restaurant (for hilarious pizza missions (30 seconds or it's free!)
    • Post Office (sorting office with medium-sized truck terminal (RPO depot? must convince tdev to add locomotive physics...)
    • Fire Stations (2-3 small ones scattered around the map)
    • Parking Garages (with the standard hilarious ramps off the roof, etc.)
    • City Hall, Dilworth Plaza (large, complicated, multi-day project...)
    • Various landmarks (PSFS Building (failcorp to you all), Wannamaker's stand-in, BNY Mellon Tower, Liberty Place, Comcast Center, Society Hill Towers)
    • Generic Buildings from Philadelphia (Embassy Suites on Benjamin Franklin Parkway, My Apartment Building (for christ's sake, if anyone finds out which one it is and then comes stalk me in real life, I will call the police. The station is literally on the same block so the response time is pretty great), University Crossings (a terrible place, I know from experience (honestly it's just 14 stories of marijuana smoke and date-rape)))
    • Hospital
    • Baseball Stadium (Shibe Park, because Citizen's Bank Stadium is terrible.)
    • Baseball Stadium underground parking garage (easily set up for autocross and BS)
    • Reading Railroad Terminal (or similar (that's prounounced "redding", you ignorant clod))
    • Complete railroad viaduct, add spur line to grain elevator, docks. (will probably be non-functional for first release, and anyway I can't fit a playable railroad into this map as it stands)
    • Fairmount Park (hell if I know how this will work. I have a space for it, though)
    • Signs, traffic lights, power poles, streetlights (functional). Sidewalk improvements.
    • Intercity Bus Terminal (good luck driving intercity, though, the city is on an island.)
    • Gas Station (could be made up-blowable? will look into this...)
    • Hilarious low-clearance areas (for hilarious trailer can-opener action)
    • Bus Barn
    • Ramps (that go hilarious places, etc.)
    • Chapman's Questionable Engineering (at request of Shadow on IRC)
    • Performance Tweaks (LODs, occlusion proxies, geometry merging, more LODs, etc.)
    • Physics Tweaks (find out what the deal is with friction, make more objects breakable, movable, collidable, etc.)
    • Release of BeamNG (because like, you can't play the map if the game doesn't exist, etc.)

    NICE TO HAVE for release (will not start until all of the above are done and BeamNG is not released):


    • HVAC and roof detailing
    • Set up some hilarious dirt track on the abandoned pier.
    • Second School
    • Second Police Station
    • Divine Lorraine Hotel
    • City DOT staging area (for like, road work trucks and cones and crap)
    • More warehouses, factories, distribution centers
    • Streetscape improvements (curb cuts, pedestrian bulb-outs, parking meters, other trendy urban planning crap)
    • Add nightlighting to older buildings
    • Meigs field-like airport (probably do not have enough room for this...)
    • More dilapidated buildings
    • Trolley tracks?
    • University City?

    THINGS THAT ARE PROBABLY NEEDED, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY WILL WORK YET:


    • Car spawner
    • Traffic (even if it's like, 20 cars on the entire map, I'll get it to work if I can)
    • Pedestrians (see above)

    The showroom is only to show off content you've made. You need to have images in the first post, and any and all relevant credits. If it's a release, the file(s) must be attached to the first post.

    Don't try to pass someone else's work off as your own - we'll figure it out and you'll get banned. Any content from the Sketchup Warehouse is explicitly banned from here.

    If you have no idea what you're doing, don't make a thread here - post in the support section instead.

    Don't create third-party content with the expectation that it'll be included in the official game. It's also not really wise to start making vehicles when nothing has even been released yet.

    Constructive criticism is encouraged, as are helpful suggestions. Useless posts will be deleted. Attacking someone for posting criticism is forbidden.

    I'm looking for a freakin' huge airport that the character (maybe BotNG?) can walk inside.
