I just had an idea, why not put people in the cars? the physics engine should be enough to give a good idea of how you would look after a specific crash. the bones could measure where the points of stress reach above about 2100 N of force, then add a "broken bone" (ball joint) there. this makes it act like it's broken. the skull would be an extremely stiff deform mesh. there should also be the ability to wear seat belts, and racing harnesses, allowing one to view how safe the car is, and the advantages of wearing safety restraints, even see how little an airbag does against flying out of the car.
USE THE SEARCH BAR, this has been suggested billions of times ITS NOT HAPPENING (i'm sorry if this came off harsh, but when people ask the exact same question billions of times it gets very annoying)
the op is talking about a realistic thing, made by the DEVS, as an official feature of the game that thing, is none of the above
its a start... if users are able to do such, imagine what the devs could do... i fear its not the "impossibility" of the thing that seems to down this topic everytime, more the thinking that quote- "its not in the aim of interrest for the game". but if its been suggested quote- "million and billion times" wouldnt that mean that it very well IS?
except for the fact, that to simulate the human body, you would need nasa's pc's (at least in the way beamng would do it)
i did use the darn search bar, i couldn't find any thread like this, plus i put this post up in about ten minutes, anyway.
a SYNTHETIC DUMMY would : -wipe away the "18+" issue -not require "NASA computers" -create the feeling of "someone ACTUALLY driving the vehicle"
http://www.beamng.com/threads/7213-Crash-test-dummies?highlight=dummy Second post conveniently lists another 4 identical threads. Yeah would love dummies. More cpu load for something that can't react realistically to gforce because it'll either ragdoll and get caught in the skeleton or be completely rigid. There's pretty much no middle ground with n/bs. Also looking forward to it clipping through and getting stuck in the engine bay or some shit after a crash, ruining any smidgeon of immersion. Much realism. Many immersion. Such driver. Wow.
I want to remind people in this forum that BeamNG's mission is "To have realistic , accurate, destructible and malleable physics everywhere. To make anything possible." So, please be patient, they're (the developers) really working hard to attain this mission. You won't be disappointed!
yeah, i do believe they mean in vehicle and object and building simulation, not animals/human simulation
One of the definitions in the English language of ANYTHING: "used to refer to a thing, no matter what."
http://www.beamng.com/threads/7218-Live-Axle-D-15-Two-Axle-Trailer?highlight=live+axle mod made by gmaksi8, the "person" deforms quite funny. but i love having someone sitting in there...
I do like the idea but in my opinion I think a crash test dummy would be better than a real person. Until a campaign is released that is.
