Is there a way of getting the max ambient occlusion from photo mode into normal gameplay?

Yes, i have an unreleased mod that does it. It resets each time you open Photo Mode but is saved when you exit it, until next time you open photo mode.

Ive just not come around to release it.

Also, i recon/hope PostFx is getting an update sometime soon cause it just feels kind of broken when you cant adjust it in the actual PostFx window. AO cant be adjusted, DOF can be adjusted, Bloom is completely broken/abscent?, light rays work, brightness adapt rate hasnt worked since a loong time and so on.
Ive seen some code hinting about changes, even a change in OR the ability to change tonemap which is awesome. They now use Uncharted2 and in my gfx mod i use a quicker version of ACES (ACES is the big movie style tonemap), which i call 'ACES fitted' and that very name showed up in the tonemap file a while back which made me smile. It makes, IMO, Beamng look less cartoony and more crisp.

your mod sounds good, i look forward to its release if you ever do release it and yeah postfx is completely jacked up. also i was digging around in postfx files and noticed that there is an unused motion blur file. i wonder when that will be implemented.

Its probably the old original game engine motion blur, its unfortunatly not made for moving vehicles so it looks off :) I think its originally for first person view looking around.
