    Hi fellow Drivers,

Hope Drive is living up to your expectations, it has become quite an immersive experience compared to its earliest launches; However it seems file modification of stock vehicles has become very hard to do, not sure if any have noticed this. I attempted to add a little bit of get up and go to the Pickup, by copying the common.zip folder (located in the content/vehicles folder which lies in the main directory of Beamng Drive) into a safe place to mess around with it. I opened pickup_engine_v8.jbeam and went to the v8 tuning 2 section and played with the torque values, burn efficiency, rpm ranges, and clutch torque to get what would be a Pickup that hauls A**(I've done this with previous versions of the game). I then, after backing up the original common.zip, repacked my modified one to common.zip and dropped it in the vehicles folder, however It will not read the pickup at all now. I assume it is some sort of integrity check protocol which detects changes in the files, because I threw the original back in and it the pickup loaded in game no problem. Just wanting to know if anyone else has played around with this with any success, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached the .txt version of the file below. By all means Keep on keeping on!

Do not modify files in the install directory. Use the mods folder in "Documents\BeamNG.drive" for that.

Btw if you are modding, paste the modified part with a new name in an empty .jbeam file. Save it into the same directory as the original vehicle file, ZIP it, then throw it into the mods folder. It can save you space and makes finding your modified content much easier. The mod is also more likely to run after an update.
