Hi , i want to bring my vehicle, (which i have done for another game) into this game. Is there any guide to do this?
There is a thread about vehicle creation in the part of the forum that you can enter once you've bought the game. I've already noticed that you own the game on your steam account, so just wait a bit untill a beamng badge appears under your name, and than you'll be able to view this page:TUTORIAL-Dummiesman-s-JBeam-Guide-Part-7-MultiDae
Well first of all your vehicle model should be converted to .dae format, the model format that the engine of the game can read. Next you have to create the engine and the suspensions code. Next you have to make a proper jbeam structure if you want it to be able to crashin game, you can do that using some programs, or doing it manually which i reccomend you not to because it takes a lot of time. After all these steps you have to gine it a name and a preview picture in game so it's easier to be selected. Hope i helped, if you have any questions fell free to ask me - - - Updated - - -
You tend to find modders almost exclusively do it manually rather than with programs. The programs give a much messier output that cant then be manually tweaked easily, which is basically a requirement anyway The model actually needs to be split into parts. Exported to DAE Then a JBeam created, Suspension is part of a JBeam, as is an engine.
Thank you guys, it seems that is much more complicated to bring a vehicle into this game than to build it.
Jbeam is rather unique, so it's a bit of a challenge to understand at first, but it's entirely possible to learn, to the point that you can make vehicles for BeamNG that work properly. All it takes is a bit of time and perseverance, much like learning how to do 3d modeling.
