Anyone else seeing this? Free roam runs smooth, but scenarios show a significant performance hit, especially those in the heavy rock areas like the crawling missions but even some others where there aren't as many rocks.

Hmm. So is there a strong difference if you do rock crawling in the same place as the scenario, but in freeroam? The performance is alright on my setup, but I can try to track down performance hogs within the scenario running logic.

Johnson Valley also has some LOD problem at part of the main road, driving in these areas will result in a 50% frame rate drop.

Yeah, that's just on a small part of that road, I think near the camp thing but not sure, it's hard to tell where exactly you are on a map like that

I just tested freeroam vs. scenario in a rock area and frame rate was about the same, just slight lag. The incident I had in mind was a racing mission that was actually on a dirt/sand trail that had added barriers. Unfortunately I don't remember what the mission was called. It could have been those extra objects that slowed the game down, and in the rock crawling scenario it could have been just all those rocks.

I'm seeing the same performance issue in other scenarios such as the Gambler 500 Forest Cleanup on East Coast. FPS is about half compared to just free roaming in the same area. It looks like there's a major CPU bottleneck with scenarios. I do have an older CPU (4th gen i7) but still there might be some checkpoint collision check to optimize.
