Hello folks I heard CryEngine is expensive in subscription and that's the cause why it is not used for BeamNG Drive. Today I saw CryEngine on Steam for a monthly subscription at 8.33 €. I know porting the current featureset is not easy because of the HTML5 UI and physic code. Is it still possible for BeamNG to port to that engine? Might bring more possibilities, than Torque i think.
With TDev and Estama now contributing to the Torque3d code (its open source after all) alongside the BeamNG work I don't think migration away from Torque will ever happen. Its also been discussed before.
what 6677 said, however, the devs have said that sometime very soon, they are going to start working on making a version of the physics engine that can be licensed out like a game engine, meaning if you or some other person really want's it that bad, and had the money, you could get the BeamNG engine, the cryengine engine, and get it working with your own ui and shazizzle
That's just to use ce IIRC. You would also need to pay them some dividends and stuff to release for profit.
