So as many of you probably know, right now I have a FX-6300, and I am thinking of getting an I5. But I am having doubts. Any suggestions or should I get it? And If I do, I would have to get a new MOBO, as mine only supports AMD.

Thats what Im not sure about..
I want a decently good one without spending an arm and a leg (and my D-15), but I also want to run a decent amount of cars and other games needing CPU.

Ryzen is LOTS better for the price, I just posted a thread here in the computer hardware forum here. Look for intel Unobtainium VS AMD

I'm running an i5 7600k @3.80 GHz, but it is not the cheapest.

Maybe an i5-6500 and a H110 mobo? Shouldn't cost too much.

I'd say get a Ryzen R3 1300x, because it's still a quad-core like an I5, but as cheap as an I3. With those savings you can get an SSD, more ram, or a better GPU. Also, Ryzen is factory unlocked, so get a nice cooler and overclock it.

You dont need a nice cooler the stock one is pretty good even with a hefty overclock.
Ryzen 1400 would be much better since it has 4 more threads which is pretty important for beamng.

In most benchmarks, the Ryzen 1300x @3.9Ghz beat out the Ryzen 1500x @Stock. If you mostly play BeamNG then go with the 1500x, otherwise a 1300x is all you need. And yeah, the stock cooler is actually pretty good.

When you overclock the 1500x to 3.9 ghz then it beats the 1300x in almost all benchmarks aswell.
But still 1400 is a little more future proof choice.

Let's ask OP, @(GNG) [S.PLH] wearyNATE15 what do you play more, BeamNG.drive and rendering images, or other games (GTA, Warhammer) and browsing?
    And what's your budget?

Maybe go Ryzen 1500x, then OC it. That would be more than enough for a while.

I don't know much about RyZen MoBos, but most are overclockable. Make sure to get one of those.

Also, differences between 1500x and 1600x
Ok, another thing i realized. I will have to buy new Ram, as there are no AM4 mobos with DDR3..
