I've been thinking on how BeamNG Drive has a small number of vehicles over the age of 60 years old, and/or cars that could be considered historic, or classic. Whether they're mods, or official vehicles, they just don't have enough to fill even a store parking lot. Now, I'm a little bit of a vintage car nut. Heck, you could even say that classic cars are the reason I'm even here in the first place. And I'd like to help contribute to this matter by making one of the best classic cars to ever roam the earth, and that is the... 1957 Chevy Bel-nah. It's a Cadillac. Why are you even surprised? It's always a Cadillac. People who've been watching this forum from the beginning won't recognize these new photos, but they're just to attract more people until release. Size reference pictures On the left is a Bluebuck, and the one on the right is my Cadillac. Display pictures (Made the option/config to remove a part of the chrome trim. I think it looks better on some variants.) Bugs, issues, & inconveniences -Just stating this for clarity, I'm probably not going to end up fully custom jbeaming this because I'm still new-ish and the Gavril Bluebuck's jbeam matches up extremely well with the model. Background & misc. information The model is placed on top of the Gavril Bluebuck, and has almost entirely the same file if that helps. Also, this is not my model. But I'm not technically using it for commercial purposes because I'm not selling anything and it was free, so it saved me learning how to sculpt in Blender too. SPECIAL UPDATE! (Sorry, this came right after another update) I know you guys have been asking me about this and I finally decided to do it, so without any further ado, NOW INTRODUCING... The Cadillac Miller-Meteor! For now, this is only a demo of it, because it's not finished so unfortunately there's no interior (or at least any interior that looks good) and also sadly the single rear trunk-door does not function either, but I think it paves the way for other cars that people have also been desiring, if you know what I mean? But currently most of the functions like paint jobs, and additional parts still work so have a little fun with it. And that's all for this update. Just re-download the attached files on the first post of the first page to get this update. See ya! It's Finally Out! Download here- *DISCLAIMER: Both files below need to be downloaded to make the ambulance and other variations with the double beacon light bar work correctly. The file is exactly the same as the original, but has been modified to include correct placement for the ambulance & etc. If the model of the beacon shows a "NO TEXTURE" material, try spawning another car with the beacon (e. g. Moonhawk) and then respawning the mod.
Fixed some problems today. I finally got a way to make the customizable paint! Though the full car isn't finished yet. Check out some of the other features too! -Openable doors! -Low rider conversion! -Front AND back licenses plates in correct spots!
My guy, the nostalgia you just gave me hit harder than a bus. The skin looks simple enough, just a yellow paint with a black and white checkered line through it? I think I can manage. But that's not my main concern currently, and I don't know how to sculpt 3D models good or where I'd find a free, compatible, taxi light that suits the car good but I'll give it an attempt.
Another update today! It's getting late, so this one was a little bit rushed but still came out okay. -Rear paint and materials added! -Glass texture added! (only on the front side for now though) This is what it looks like from an interior camera currently. I'll be back with more exciting news later!
Thanks for wanting to help me, I do have some problems that I can't figure out how to fix, and some that will come later on. I got a bit of an easy main problem that happened when I was adding UV textures, I can't seem to figure out how to flip the UV textures in Blender while keeping the other side texturized too. -It's not very good writing, but it basically means that everything in the blue area is supposed to be the back side of the trunk. Then, for the taxi that some folks might want to see, I'd need a 3D model of the taxi sign (which you said you might be able to provide, forgive me if I'm wrong) and a yellow skin with a black and white checkered line through it if anyone else would like to contribute. I don't really want to pay anything, but I can and will write you name down in the credits. That, I believe, is about it and everything else is just some bugs I need to work out before the official release. Thank you, to everyone who'd like to donate their wisdom or work.
Ive been waiting for a luxury land barge for too long. I really wish you luck on this project, as your progress looks very promising
Alright, now we're talking. HEADLIGHTS! -Still working out the kinks but they look good! -Close-up photo of the lights. And I don't remember if I showed you guys this or not, but here's what the windshield looks like when it's damaged. -Might have to zoom in to see the cracks, but they're there. That's all for now. May seem like little work, but it would have ruined the aesthetic if I never got them finished.
MORE UPDATES! As they say, "the more, the merrier." -Doors ladies and gentlemen, doors. -Interior colors, somebody please tell me how to be able to have multiple interior colors in different configurations. Like brown, white, beige, body color and like you see in the picture, black. -AI works too. This has always worked; just thought I'd state it in case it broke. (Rare photo of common AI gangster affiliation occurring.) Looks good so far, so more updates to come.
I'm not really sure when it'll get done, but it's become a daily project for me so the release might be a little bit after Christmas. But only like, a week and a half. On the contrary, I also want to get the best quality out of it too and I don't want to rush it. Just so you know, this also won't be the best, even when it's finished. But I will try to update it frequently if it still has some issues. --- Post updated --- And again, this is the first time I've made a mod like this, so I don't actually know if that'd be an accurate prediction.
A color slot for the interior, different jbeam/material sections, things like that I think though not sure how you have it set up so it could be different.
