This map in beamng would be awesome. Not sure if it applies now but Francis International was recreated for beamng 8 years ago but was taken down during warmongering that Take Two was doing. It affected many mods for GTA 4,5 and other games that used its assets as mods. Hopefully they have chilled out and we can see this amazing map come to life. I am rooting for you.

If you want to optimize it as much as possible, look at what car_killer and Ezo are doing with Shuto Expressway.
Is it even possible to get certain parts of the environment animated like the billboards in Star Junction and such?
Last time I heard about GTA IV's Liberty City to BeamNG, somebody made that before but ended up getting cancelled because he had enough over death threats telling him to release it right away. He scrapped the whole progress by sending his final message and he goes into disappearance... Anyways, We're glad you're making your own LC port. Take all the time you need, bud, no need to rush it. Hopefully this one will still remain in progress, so I wish you the best of good luck in doing everything until it's ready. We're counting on you, man.
In the meantime, is anyone willing to help make a default license plate design for the map? My suggestions is that it's essentially to be period correct and read on the bottom "Happiness State."
That is crazy and i dont plan on haveing a discord or other for this so no nead to have that issue. i will not be russing this at all. when its playable with 30-60fps almost at all times ill be good for a test run with yall
I remember. This guy was a bit crazy. He was upset and posted literally half the Bible in the forum so that your browser died because of the size, haha. But he made a really cool toolset for converting the level with fully automated blender scripts and some other tools. He had the project public on GitHub and I dived a bit into the code. the idea was that you build the beamng map automatically on your computer if you have bought gta IV. heyo, i can somewhat help with optimizations, i can create custom LOD models for ya and also convert the terrain to be like how beam handles terrains, (creating a heightmap)
Remember when traffic lights at one point had street name signs (albeit blank)? I wonder if there's some way to attach that. This attachment here is an example of what I was conveying.
I believe its only textures, so just replace the blank texture with that image, normals may be required. if all the signs uses the same textures, you can make a big texture with all the names and signs, then with normal editing, move the texture to get the desired name
