For a while now I've been planning on building a pc, my first pc build but before i start to purchase everything i wanted to wait until i knew more about pc building and if the hardware would all fit and be compatible in the case and with the other components. Finally i believe I've gotten to that point and have decided on a parts list that i'll stick to until the purchase of this beast is made (Appox. 3 Months) but i'd like to get other's opinions and suggestions as you all probably have a lot more experience then me with this sort of stuff. FYI: I went for a i-7 because i do video editing and overall believe i would need it. Also the theme for it is white with red rgb lighting, i also plan for it to be rather quite do you think i have enough fans tho, xD. Parts List: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/DGNbxY A couple questions i have are: For the power supply is 80+ Bronze okay? or should i get a gold or higher rating? Also will all of this stuff fit in the case as it looks quite small. Along with i have an NCIX down the road from my house should i go through them to purchase all of the parts or go through pc part picker with all the different companies? BTW The price is in CAD and i live in Canada
Looks pretty decent to me, the PSU should be ok with 80+ Bronze, however I don't know if going for a more powerful one is a good idea if you ever want to upgrade to a 1070/1080 in the future. Also I would not recommend Seagate hard drives as I got about 6 months out of my 2TB one and I've recently had one die in another computer. I'd recommend a WD Black if you want a solid hard drive.
If recommend a bigger HDD, because video editing can take quite a bit of storage. Also an 80+ gold PSU would be much safer, you do NOT want to cheap out on a power supply, especially at this budget. Finally, that GPU seems a bit overpriced, but I'm not sure about Canada to US currency. Update- If you're a serious video editor, id get more RAM, too. Video editing uses a crap-ton of it
Alright thank you for the information As for decoration and such how would i do RGB lighting inside of the case and should i? Would i just stick em in and plug it into the wall or is it more advanced?
You buy an actual kit like the NZXT hue, I also made a little edit to your build, a RX480 would be a better bang for your buck and a better power supply, I hate it when people get cheap bronze rated power supplies with really nice hardware. also saved you a few bucks too. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/FcHRhq. P.S. go to reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap you can get cheap windows licenses from there. Or you know you could pirate it, not that I condone pirating.
