PS4 Controller Problems

I recently got a DualShock 4 PS4 controller since my old one finally crapped out, but I am experiencing issues with this controller only in this game. One of these issues is that when I press a button, it doubles up the click and skips a whole gear for example: it skips 2nd gear in the process of up shifting from 1 to 2, it goes straight to 3. I am using a program called DS4 Windows to enable the controller to work on my PC.
