What are the general steps in making a car for BeamNG

I want to eventually put my own car into BeamNG.

To me it seems like these are the steps:

    1. Create the car in a 3D Program
    2. Create Jbeam properties for each part of the car
    3. Import the car into BeamNG
    4. Drive!

are those the basic steps? are they out of order?

I'm not a modder myself, but I've seen enough to know the rough way it works. Your steps are correct, though steps 1 and 2 are both very difficult and time-consuming.

Those steps are basically correct. I suggest starting simple, put only the basic frame in game first instead of trying to make everything at once. Something will go wrong, this way you don't have to fix everything afterward. When you have a frame that shows up correctly and doesn't collapse or explode, you can start adding parts.

Sounds good, I have a car about 20% done, im stealing the frame and engine from the Bucknell Moonhauk i hope the BeamNg Dev's dont mind haha, i think the hardest part will be creating jbeams for the for each section of the car, i dont even know how it all even works, it'll be months before i have a full working car in the game as im still learning blender at this point.
