I hope this is the right place to start this discussion, I'm sorry if it isn't. I wanted to ask why we are encouraged to discuss glitches and other problems for mods in forums rather than leaving these issues in our reviews? I feel like it defeats the purpose of reviews unless it is something that becomes a bigger issue that needs to be discussed further. Plus, we can rereview mods when a new version comes out which makes it even more confusing to me that this would be an issue. If this is really an issue I feel it would be nice to be able to give ratings without reviews because while I am happy to give a rating I sometimes feel silly just writing "good job" since it says to leave a constructive review.

What else are you suppose to put in your review besides problems with the mod if you have them? If it's a good mod then you can say why you like it or a simple pat on the back like "good job", but if you give a low star review without saying what the issues are all you can really say is something like "this sucks" or "it could be better". I understand not allowing people to let game issues affect their reviews but if it's a problem with the mod then I don't see why it shouldn't be mentioned.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding, but that's why I wanted to ask about this. I do not intend to offend anybody with this question and I hope I don't but I'm sorry if I do.

You can have a low quality mod without any particular issues. For example a lazy mod that is a car with 1 config and no custom parts, or textures that technically work but look worse than on vanilla cars. Reviews are for this kind of stuff. You can also have a high quality mod that has 1 or 2 bugs in it, and you shouldn't review it based on those issues. High quality mods are supposed to get higher star ratings so that other people can see that they are good, and rating it 3 or 4 stars instead of 5 because of some bugs or issues defeats the purpose, because these issues will eventually be fixed but the review will stay and still lower the rating.

Reviews are used as a general guide for people downloading a mod wanting higher quality mods. Most players thend to avoid mods with lower ratings.

Now discussing bugs in reviews is a difficult topic because while, yes they need to be adressed if they are game breaking, some people just tend to say "door texture wrong. 3 stars" when the whole mod was otherwise fine. A modder wants good feedback in a review with wich it can actually be improved. Its a difference between "No nitrous. 2stars" and "The car is great but it tends to understeer heavily in corners. Perhaps make some adjustments to the front Suspension? 4stars" one of these reviews is just way more useful than the other and not useful reviews usually get deleted. Many users also just dont have the ability to give constructive reviews and often just say things like "Ruined. 1 star" after an update they did not like.

Now this wouldn't be so bad if the users actually changed the reviews when the problems are fixed. They almost never do. So you just have this review detailing a problem that does not exist anymore and someone who just doesnt change it to something better. It's just incredibly frustrating.
