Question regarding disconnecting front axles

    Recently started playing beamng, and I've become quite infatuated with rock crawling. I noticed some vehicles come with an option to disconnect the right and/or left front driveshafts. What is the purpose of this and its practical applications?

    I think irl it's to reduce wear, in game that is not really a concern but you can use it for some fun testing without a practical advantage
